Working in tandem, the "SK 1" and "Athlet" floating cranes of BVT Chartering and Logistics GmbH transfer Bremerhaven's oldest bridge by water to Bremen on March 19, 2021.
Built in 1861, the historic swing bridge over the main canal in Bremerhaven was last overhauled in 2003.
Corrosion damage is now to be repaired in Bremen and the steel then recoated.
After the swing bridge was initially lifted from its central pillar by BVT Chartering and Logistics with the help of floating pontoons, the floating cranes "SK 1" and "Athlet" were able to take over the bridge and transport it to Bremen in tandem.
