Damaged railway swing bridge in Bremerhaven's Kaiserhafen salvaged and removed by BVT Chartering and Logistics GmbH

With the heavy-duty pontoon "BHV INNOVATION", BVT Chartering and Logistics GmbH was able to salvage the damaged railway swing bridge in Bremerhaven's Kaiserhafen on Saturday morning and transport it to the ABC peninsula. The heavy-duty pontoon "BHV INNOVATION", which had just been extended to 95 meters and converted into a semi-submersible, had already been positioned under the bridge the day before.

After the SPMTs on the pontoon had taken on the load of the bridge section to be removed, the last flame cut was made late at night and the historic swing bridge was thus prepared for removal.

On Saturday morning, the pontoon was drained as planned and the pontoon, including SPMTs and bridge section, was raised to the required height. The bridge section was then rotated on the pontoon using the SPMTs.

Through the Kaiserhafen the pontoon went to the ABC Peninsula. Once there, the swing bridge with the SPMTs was driven onto the heavy-duty platform on land.
